Checklist Guide

Standard Operating Procedures

Purpose

This checklist ensures Lock 13 is ready for service every day and properly closed every night. It builds trust between shifts — when you come in for opening, you can trust that closing was done properly the night before. When you close, you're setting up the next team for success.

Who Fills It In

The manager or supervisor on duty is responsible for completing the checklist. They walk through the venue with the tablet and verify each task has been done. They can assign tasks to specific staff members who did the work.

How To Complete

  1. Select your name — you are accountable for this checklist. Your name is on the sign-off.
  2. Walk through each section physically — do not tick items from memory or from behind the bar. Go to each area and check.
  3. For each task, tick done and assign who did it — use the dropdown to select the staff member who completed that task.
  4. If something is wrong, flag it — tap the warning icon, add a note explaining the issue, and take a photo.
  5. Take photos of anything that needs attention — leaks, mess from the night before, broken equipment, safety concerns.
  6. Review all items before signing off — the review screen shows a summary of everything.
  7. Sign off — your sign-off confirms that everything listed has been done and is correctly assigned. You are taking accountability.

What's Acceptable

  • Every task ticked and assigned to whoever did it
  • Photos taken for any flagged issues
  • Honest notes on anything that needs follow-up
  • Signing off only after physically walking the venue

What's NOT Acceptable

  • Ticking everything without physically checking — this defeats the purpose
  • Leaving tasks unassigned — every completed task needs a name beside it
  • Not flagging genuine issues — if something isn't right, flag it. No one gets in trouble for flagging, but hiding problems causes bigger ones
  • Completing the checklist from memory — walk the floor, check the toilets, look at the bar

Flagging Issues

Use the ⚠ flag button on any task where there's a problem. Then:

  • Add a note describing the issue (e.g. "Glass washer not draining, pooling water")
  • Take a photo — this gets sent to management immediately
  • This isn't about blame. It's about fixing problems fast and keeping the venue running properly.

Photos

Some tasks require a photo (marked with a "Photo" badge). You can also add photos to any task. Use photos for:

  • Broken or faulty equipment
  • Cleanliness issues from the previous shift
  • Safety concerns (leaks, trip hazards, etc.)
  • Anything you'd want management to see

Questions?

If you're unsure about any part of the checklist, ask your manager or supervisor. It's better to ask than to tick something you're not sure about.
